Development and validation testing represents 63% of the activity of the UTAC CERAM Group and are carried out in six internal laboratories. The endurance and reliability laboratory located at the Mortefontaine test center has many world-class tools to complete its tests, measurements and analysis. Among them, a new four-post shaker test bench that has just been adapted to accommodate large vehicles like LCVs (light commercial vehicles) and racing cars. This equipment can be used  24 hours a day and 7 days a week to validate solutions and / or reveal faults.

The four-post shaker bench includes dynamic cylinders of 100 kN allowing each position to reach acceleration levels of more than 40 g at the wheel of the vehicle, enabling engineers to reproduce the severe track signals which have been gathered from real-world events such as paving stones, potholes,  road humps etc. This allows frequency analysis by sine sweeping 0-50 Hz in 6 degrees of freedom (ideal for the characterization of road inputs or correlation of numerical models). with the Four-Post shaker bench has the advantage of being housed inside a climatic chamber with a temperature range of -30 ° C / + 60 ° C and is ideally suited to the testing of a wide selection of vehicles, upto a maximum wheelbase of 4, m and a Maximum total vehicle mass of 5 tonnes. Thanks to its expertise, UTAC CERAM offers the possibility to complete the entire endurance test: making the measurements on tracks and on the four-post shaker bench, including post-test terdown of the vehicle at the end of the endurance test with a full analysis of failures.
