The first edition of the UTAC CERAM Millbrook challenge was held on May 20 and unveiled the projects of the 7 teams that took part in the very first automated and connected driving challenge in Europe.
Organised with the support of the Société des Ingénieurs de l'Automobile (SIA), this annual competition is open to students from universities, engineering schools and IUTs from all over the world. Participants aim to develop a complete or partial design of a vehicle related to autonomy and safety and are evaluated by a jury composed of experts. The UTAC CERAM Millbrook Challenge is also open to companies who would like to support this initiative and the event itself, like dSPACE, a solution provider of on-board data acquisition and real-time vehicle control solutions. After this very successful first edition in a 100% digital format, during which the teams of ESIGELEC, ECE, ENSTA ParisTech, ESTACA and the University of Orléans, UTAC CERAM Millbrook and the SIA will meet future candidates in May 2022 for a second edition. This will be held at TEQMO, the test center dedicated to automated and connected vehicles, in the heart of the Linas-Montlhéry race track.
