LIGIER SCOOTER GROUP USES UNIQUE THREE POST SHAKER TEST BENCH AT MORTEFONTAINE
As part of the development of its vehicles, Ligier Group entrusts UTAC CERAM with all of its structural validation tests. As an example of this reliance on the expertise of UTAC CERAM, a new three-wheeled scooter has just endured three weeks of accelerated structural testing on the configurable shaker rigs at the Mortefontaine test centre. This short duration testing has a correlated accelerataion ratio equivalent to the fulluseful life of the scooter, thus guaranteeing the reliability of the vehicle as well as the safety of its driver during use.
The UTAC CERAM test bench has an iterative and infinatly tailorable control system that enables it can perfectly reproduce all the characteristic road load inputs recorded from extensive real world data collection and from the endurance tracks of the mortefontaine circuit. Engineers at UTAC CERAM have therefore created an accelerated durability test cycle on the test bench, using the hydraulic shakers in the test laboratory, to reproduce the same accelerations undergone by the vehicle during its lifetime and to replicate its full lifetime of structural inputs in a very compressed timeline, thus saving Ligier Group time and money and enabling them to bring their new product to market, will full confidence that it will have exeptional durability in real-world use as a result of the work conducted during development with the team at UTAC CERAM.
