NEW GREEN NCAP CAMPAIGN: RESULTS HAVE BEEN PUBLISHED
Green NCAP, launched in 2017, is a European consortium whose objective is to promote vehicles with the least environmental impact, has just published the ranking of its new campaign in relation to the GVI (Green Vehicle Index) project. The independent body has measured the polluting emissions and energy performance of vehicles according to more comprehensive criteria than regulations, including the measurement of greenhouse gas emissions. UTAC CERAM Millbrook, the only official Euro NCAP laboratory in France, carried out these tests at the Linas-Montlhéry proving ground.
50 cars, representing the four major engine families: thermal, electric, plug-in hybrid and fuel cells, were screened using specific dedicated protocols. Following the publication of the results, the Hyundai Nexo, the first fuel cell car ever tested by Green NCAP and the electric VW ID.3 were awarded 5 stars followed by the Toyota Prius 1.8 plug-in hybrid and its 4 stars.
