EVALUATION OF GROUND CONNECTION PERFORMANCE: UTAC CERAM MILLBROOK UPGRADES ITS 4 CYLINDERS SUSPENSION BENCH
The Vehicle Dynamics, is also known as the analysis of road behaviour and ground connections. In addition to the infrastructure and technical means, the various partnerships concluded by the proving grounds of UTAC CERAM Millbrook, allow the group to cover all the activities of the Vehicle Dynamics, from the design of the connections to the ground to the final approval.
To carry out this mission, the group benefits from a powerful suspension bench, installed in a building of 500 m² in Mortefontaine. This simulator is able to reproduce the vertical stresses applied to the vehicle whether it is passenger, commercial or racing, during road use. In order to be as close as possible to the expectations of its customers, UTAC CERAM Millbrook has chosen to rely on state-of-the-art equipment with the following technical characteristics: 4 vertical cylinders 100 kN to simulate the runway loads on the wheels, 2 pneumatic cylinders 10 kN to simulate aerodynamic loads (front and rear), swept sines from 0.5 Hz to 40 Hz with speeds ranging from 75 mm.s-1 to 190 mm.s-1 and finally, a climatic chamber (-30°C to +50°C).
