HUMANS FACTORS STUDIES: A UTAC CERAM MISSION
Knowing the perceptions and behaviour of vehicle users in different situations in order to adapt them to the constraints and needs of users: this is the challenge of the human factors studies carried out daily by UTAC CERAM experts. Several areas are studied: operational safety, the autonomous features of the vehicle, Advanced driver assistance systems, cockpit ergonomic evolution and general ‘life on board’ the vehicle.
The UTAC CERAM team is composed of technicians for vehicle instrumentation, professional drivers for, depending on the theme, being repeatable or making the test safe (recovery) and ergonomists for creating and carrying out the experiments. The job of an ergonomist consists of analyzing human behavior when they interacts with a vehicle or system and/or with one or more individuals. All of these studies are carried out on the UTAC CERAM Group's sites, which include numerous test tracks.
